Industries

Home services and trades.

Someone with a cold house or a leaking pipe decides in a minute whether to call you or the next name on the list. Here is what we would build for a plumber, an electrician, a heating and cooling company, a roofer, a landscaper or a cleaning service.

From your side

What a trade business needs from its website.

  • The phone has to ring from the site

People find us on a phone with a problem in front of them. Our number should be a tap away on every screen, and the quote form should be short enough to finish standing in a wet kitchen.

  • We only want jobs we can take

A call from two counties away or for work we do not do costs us time. The site should say plainly which towns we cover and which jobs we take, before anyone dials.

  • A stranger is letting us into the house

People want to know who is coming, that we are licensed and insured, and what happens after they call. Our own crew, our own vans and our own finished work say that better than stock photos.

  • We are on a job, not at a desk

Requests should land where we will see them between jobs, with the service, the area and a phone number already filled in. Nobody here has time to log in to a website.

The example

A concept, clearly labeled.

Concept

Northline Heating and Plumbing

A home page for a heating, cooling and plumbing company. It opens with a four field quote form beside the headline and an emergency phone line in the header, then lays out each service, the four steps of a visit and a list of starting prices for common jobs.

Northline Heating and Plumbing is an invented business. We designed and built it to show how we would approach a site in this field. It is not a client.

  • A request a quote form at the top of the page: service, area, name and phone
  • An emergency phone line that stays in the header
  • Heating, cooling, plumbing and emergency repairs, each with its own entry
  • Four numbered steps that explain what happens after the call
  • A printed list of starting prices and what is always included

Process

How a project runs.

  1. Talk it through

A short call about the jobs you want more of, the area you cover and how requests reach you today.

  2. Written scope

Pages, features and the price in writing before any work begins.

  3. Design and build

You review real pages on your own phone, the way your customers will see them, and send feedback in rounds.

  4. Launch and handoff

Domain connected, forms tested, files delivered and accounts in your name. Care is optional.

Questions

Before you ask.

Have you built a site for a trade business before?

Not for a client yet. Northline Heating and Plumbing on this page is a concept: an invented business we designed and built to show how we would approach one. Our live client sites are in other fields, and you can see all of them on the work page.

What does a website for a trade business cost?

Our website packages have published prices. Business Starter is $500 for one scrolling page, and Business Website is $700 for up to five pages, which suits a company with several services. Anything beyond a package is written into the scope with its price before work begins. See pricing

Where do quote requests go?

To the email address you choose, as soon as the form is sent. Every website package includes one standard working inquiry form, and it can be a quote request. A second form, such as one for emergency callbacks, is $100.

Can customers book a visit online?

If you already use a booking calendar, one standard setup or embed is included with Business Website and is $150 with the other packages. Connecting the site to dispatch or field service software is a larger piece of work that we have not delivered for a client yet, so it is scoped and quoted after a call.

Should we put prices on the site?

That is your call. Some owners publish starting prices for common jobs, as the Northline concept does, and some prefer to quote every job. We can build either, and prices are easy to change later.

Will the site put us at the top of Google?

We do not promise rankings, and nobody honestly can. Every package includes basic search setup: clear page titles, your services and towns in plain words, and a site that loads quickly on a phone. Google Business Profile work is a separate service that is scoped and quoted after a call.

We have no good photos. What should we do?

Phone photos of your own crew, vans and finished jobs are better than stock pictures, and we will tell you which ones the site needs. Before and after pairs are especially useful for this kind of work.

Who owns the website when it is finished?

The business does. Your domain stays registered to you, and the agreed custom code and deliverables pass to you after full payment, subject to any third party licenses. You can take a care plan or not, and ownership is the same either way.

Tell us about your trade business.

We will reply with a clear next step and a written scope.
